What happened to my ears?

I went in the tub with baby-sized ears...what happened!?? Oh no...is that a trunk growing from my head?!

I'm 7 months old

I turned 7 months old on Friday.

Below are some photos that Papi took of me and Mami. I don't have too many photos with her because she's usually the one behind the camera.

I love playing "a topi topi topi" with her.

I had a fun weekend! In anticipation of Pop & Nana's visit I took a short first nap. I played with Papi while Mami went out for tea with a mom's group. I took a nap when Mami came back. I knew that Pop had arrived so I took another short nap. I was very excited to see him and Nana.

At this point I was really tired. The landlord and Papi decided to cut some tree limbs right outside my bedroom window while I was taking my last nap, and you guessed it, they woke me up. Abuelito and Abuelita came to visit me and I got to play with everyone. Abuelita fed me my dinner and then gave me a bath. Mami put me to bed early because I just couldn't handle anymore excitement.

For Easter Sunday we visited Abuelito and Abuelita. Tio Ura, Jeanette and Jelani were visiting too. Tio Ura let me play with his birds while Mami and Papi had lunch. The birds were funy; they kept landing on my head...too bad Mami forgot her camera :( Tio Ura also brought me some new toy cars but Mami says they'll be rusty before I'm old enough to play with them (just kidding!). Jeanette brought me cool new towel that has an elephant head on it. I can't wait to try it out!

The weekend was quiet without Titi Gory and Titi Val--they were having fun in Mexico. I'll get to see them soon.

And with all the excitement, we forgot to get a picture of my beauty mark...soon you'll see it.

I'm Crawling!!!

Yep, I finally figured it out. I am a crawling baby now. I'm not too fast yet, but I have the technique down. I even found a new corner in my room I had never seen before. It just so happens to be where Mami hides some of my toys. Not anymore!

Okay, coming up next Monday; pictures of my beauty mark, me crawling and pictures with Pop and Nana who will be visiting me on Saturday.

Here are some more pictures of me to hold you over until Monday. Mami keeps begging Papi to get her a new camera because the one she has is 5 years old and it doesn't capture all of my cuteness (she said it, not me, but I do agree with her). The begging hasn't worked yet. Don't worry Mami: I know how to crawl now and Best Buy is only a few blocks away. Do you think I can buy you one with my beautiful smile?

I really like shadows...some toys don't cost anything. ;-)

check out my Bumgenius diaper--more and more of us babies are choosing to go green (and I don't mean the diaper color). These diapers don't got nothing on huggies.

New Beauty Mark

"Mami, do we look like brothers?"

I don't have a picture yet, but Mami just found my first beauty mark--it's on my right thigh, same spot where Papi has one. I guess I've been spending so much time with Charlie that his spots are rubbing off on me (hehehe).

I had a really fun weekend with Mami and Papi. We got to spend the whole day on Saturday just hanging out together. I had so much fun. Here are some pictures of our time together.

Mami thinks I'm getting a tooth soon. I haven't really been myself the last couple of days. I've been waking up a couple more times at night not really hungry and I've skipped a few naps the last three days. This baby thing is so tiring.

My crawling attempts are getting better. Today I started coordinating my legs with my arms. I only have it down on my left side, but I have to start somewhere. Papi better install the gate upstairs soon! When I get tired of trying to crawl, I like to lounge on the floor reading books.

Happy Birthday to Abuelito on March 2nd! On his birthday I got all dressed up and ready to go visit him, but when I got to his house he had already left for church. At least I got to nibble on Tio (uncle) Ura's fingers a little and let him see how strong I'm getting. I was due for a nap and I was late to church, but I got to show Abuelito my new outfit after he was done preaching. Don't I look handsome! Here I am with Tio Ura and with Abuelito.

Let me tell you about the scary thing that happened to me on Saturday. Mami and Papi put me to bed as usual and then Abuelito and Abuelita stayed at my house while Mami and Papi went to dinner to celebrate. Everything was fine until the wind knocked out the power. Oh I was sleeping so comfy in my bed and all of a sudden the noises changed. I thought "what just happened to the humming in my room and what is that loud sound outside my window?!" I panicked and started screaming. Abuelita came to the rescue and right behind her was Abuelito and Charlie. I was so confused because I don't get to see them at night. I started crying again because Mami was nowhere in sight. Oh but Abuelita remembered Mami's rooster trick and Charlie started howling and I calmed down right away. Mami and Papi showed up 10 minutes later and I was so happy to see them. All I wanted to do was just go back to bed, but Abuelita kept talking to me and Mami kept saying she wasn't staying home without heat. Papi said, "no, the power will be back. Let's stay here" Mami wanted to bring me to bed with her but I wasn't about to have any part in that. I like my bed and that's where I wanted to sleep. I put up a fight and finally Papi realized that I wanted to just go to my bed. He rocked me a little in my room and tucked me in bed with two warm blankets. Right to sleep I went. It was nice having Papi to make me feel safe. The power came back just like Papi said it would.

My First Post

Since I live far away from some of my relatives and friends, my Mami decided to share some info about me here. Come visit often and see what I have been up to at home. Hopefully, I don't keep Mami too busy so she can post about me every week.

This week I have started to babble even more. I can spend hours (well, really it's minutes but they feel like hours to me) just babbling away in my crib every morning before Papi comes to change me. The puppie next to me is "bluito"...he's my sleeping buddy. He keeps me company while I nap and sleep at night. Plus, he lets me chew on his ears when I have an itch in my mouth. He's great (but don't let Charlie know I said that)!

I've also started getting up on all fours and I'm really focused on getting the crawling thing down. It's exhausting but I'll soon be going forward (instead of backward). I'm just dying to give Charlie a good chase out of my room. He's the funniest dog there is. I love him and I let him lick my hands even though Mami doesn't like me doing that. Charlie makes me laugh...when Mami makes a rooster sound he goes wild making howling noises and barking. He thinks he's on a farm. It makes me giggle every time.

On 2/21/08, I spent my 6-month birthday going to see my doctor. He says I'm very healthy and growing strong. I weigh 16 lbs 10 oz and measure 26".
