What a sweet surprise my Mami and Papi gave me this morning! Last night Mami told me I needed to go to sleep so I could wake up and get my present because it would be baby Jesus' birthday, and then we would eat some cake. Apple cake! I listened to Mami and went to sleep after going to our Christmas Eve service at church. They had candles there and I was staying away from them telling Titi Gori that they were "very hot". So I got up this morning and....

My Papi was up until 3 am putting my train table together. He was so cozy with Charlie while I played.

I had a really great 3rd Christmas! I got to share time with my family and eat some apple cake for baby Jesus' birthday. Then I went to visit lita (Abuelita) and lillo (Abuelito), Titi Gory and Titi Val. I took a nap and then went back for some fun and food. It was a long day and I am going to visit Pop tomorrow so I went to bed to get some rest. I'll be fully charged for another fun day tomorrow.

I think we are doing a pretty good job raising a helpful child. Tonight as I was putting Micah to bed, he asked me if he could help me get gas. LOL. He used to be a little uptight when we would pull up to a gas station, not sure why. But he got over it once his Papi showed him all the numbers and how they change. So since he can't really help me get gas I told him he could help me by counting :) I am sure that tomorrow morning when he wakes up he will ask for a car ride to get "nina" (gasolina).

Before the month gets away from us...a Micah story.

It is so funny how he figures stuff out. He has his stool in the bathroom so he can stand and pee in the toilet (such a big guy being potty trained and standing to do it!). He recently wanted to reach for my towel while I was getting out of the shower and instead of struggling to reach it like he normally does, I heard him say, "oh, stool." He went over, grabbed his stool, placed it below the towel rack and grabbed it for me. "Here Mama!" Hey, a short guy has to survive. So now he takes his stool all over the upstairs. Yesterday he wanted to reach Roy bear..."stool!" Needless to say, it is another item that we must hide at nap time.

John has had to take a couple of toys away because Micah has wanted to have fun with Charlie a little to rough. He gets a kick out of pushing toys into Charlie and seeing Charlie flee from his side. Charlie is a little intimidated. LOL. So a couple of Micah's trucks ended up in the basement. He knew exactly why too--"Truck Henry (the name of the guy of that particular truck), down, ouchie Charlie." He may not have all the words to form a perfect sentence but he certainly can communicate!

Okay so it's been a while...waaaaay too long since the last post. But life seems to be in a new norm; hopefully we can keep up the blog. I think Mami will take over the blogging b/c Micah would never tell the funny stuff.

Check out the little guy that never slept anywhere...not the car...not abuelita's...or Mami's bed for that matter. At nap time, he said to me, "no nap, Mama". I told him he didn't have to take a nap if he didn't want to but he would have to stay upstairs and play quietly while Mami did some work. (fyi, our entire upstairs is toddler safe). He did just fine, but then I heard over the monitor what sounded like the shaking of a pill bottle. I ran upstairs and it was the blue car, no pills. He still didn't want a nap but it wasn't time for him to come down. I heard him whining over the monitor, playing with his phone, then....silence. I came upstairs to check on him and this is what I found:

He fell asleep at the top of the stairs with his favorite things: cell phone (under his right arm), Bernie, an old id that looks like a credit card to him, his car and the kitchen chair cushion he uses as a road. If you come to our house and sit in the kitchen and Micah tries to get you to get up, most likely you are sitting on his road. He's done it to us numerous times.

Of course, after I snapped the picture I picked him up and put him in his bed.
Where is time going? He is growing up way too fast :(

I can slow down. Mami got me playing quietly all by myself.

Got my haircut early...

That's my Papi telling Mr. John how he wanted my hair cut.

Yep, somebody forgot to tell Mr. John I do not like my hair being spritzed.
"MAMA! MAMA!"

Yum! a lolly pop and it's not even lunchtime :)

It wasn't *that* bad. All it took was five minutes and Mr. John had me looking like a little boy.

PSA: I'm getting my hair cut

For all of you citizens out there concerned with my hair length, you'll be glad to know that Mami has scheduled my first hair cut appointment for Thursday June 25th at 10 am. So no need for further comments on my messy 'do. Thank you VERY much! And for your pleasure, some bathtime :)

Puddle Jumping

Mami took me for a walk and promised me to let me jump in the puddle we spotted on our way in. She kept her promise ;)

I don't need a boost!

I have finally realized that I can have my own opinion, even if it's different than my Mami's...

First Trip to Knoebels

Mami and Papi were taking me out to visit Miss Natalia and Ryan this morning, but a bug that got into Miss Natalia's belly kept us from getting there. So Mami and Papi took a detour and we headed north to Pop's house. I had fun playing with some cars and seeing Cocoa and Nana. After a brief nap (you know me, I don't like missing any action) we went to the park...this was a BIG park!!! I had such a fun time with my family. There will be some pictures to come, but for now enjoy watching me eat my first ice cream cone. I've had ice cream before, but never on a cone! It was YUMMMMMy!

Happy Easter

Clearly, it is not Micah blogging tonight...his Mami checking in for him. It is midnight and he has been asleep for five hours recharging his battery while I wear mine out. I'll pay for it tomorrow. But I wanted to share this one picture of Micah I took today.

It is such a delight to spend my time with him. He is such a sweet and kind little boy...not much of a baby :( *sniff, sniff* John and I are constantly amazed by how giving Micah is. He doesn't have trouble sharing his snack in the church nursery and is often sharing with us, even when we don't ask. It is as if he already knows in his heart that it is better to give than to receive.
Lately, he has started showing us when things are out of place. The other morning he brought me a glass of water that one of us must have left on the coffee table overnight. And he didn't spill it! If I forget to put up the gate at the bottom of the stairs, he comes and starts pointing and "telling" me that I need to put the gate up. Same thing with outlet covers that haven't been placed back or when the office gate is left open (yes, we have plenty of gates up). It's as if he's telling us, "please, protect me because I might be tempted....to take all of Papi's pens out of his desk...walk upstairs by myself....or put something in the outlet." For his precaution I am very thankful. :)

Brown Derby

Start your engines!

Catching up

I am keeping my parents very busy these days. I am very determined and know what I want (in the picture above, I was protesting because I wanted the camera to take pictures of Mami): my parents full attention! It gets a little difficult sometimes because I don't have the words to tell them what I want. But I'm getting better at that. I've even started saying "please"!

These days I BEG to go outside as soon as I get finished with breakfast. I just wish the weather would cooperate and get warmer so Mami wouldn't mind being outside for long. I know how to get to the park and I try to get my parents to take me every day, sometimes twice in a day. I just love being outdoors. But since it's not quite time to be outdoors full-time, I've been enjoying my toys indoors:

Messy eater

Messy eater, originally uploaded by BeiraBrown.

Still don't know if I'm going to use my right hand or left. I have time to figure it all out, besides, I still have a great excuse to make a mess! Charlie is gaining weight--hehe. He's my vacuum cleaner

I sure know how to give Mami and Papi a good laugh!

Finger Painting

I'm turning into a little painter...following in my Papi's footsteps.
Some artists paint on canvas, but I prefer to paint on myself.

Sel, you missed a spot...let me help you with it. (that's my buddie Selody!)

Seventeen months

I'll be 18 months soon...Mami has just been slow uploading photos. The blocks wagon has become one of my favorite toys. I often spend my time pushing it back and forth. Sometimes I even ask/beg Mami or Papi to pull me around in it! I dump all the blocks out and then climb in it all by myself.

That's Bernie! He is my bedtime buddie. He is not allowed to come downstairs, but on this particular day I woke up from my nap a little crankie so he got to come share a snack with me. I enjoy having my snacks at my new table--it's the perfect height for a perfect little boy like me ;)

Yum! Raisins and gold fish.

I am getting SO BIG!

I love my Charlie. We have become bestest friends. He lets me grab his stub of a tail he has. I grab his legs, I jump on him, I sit on him, I walk on him. He doesn't seem to mind. Sometimes I reward him with a cracker or some bread or peanuts or....

There I am again having another snack at my table. Did you notice the prunes?!
